About Linda Yang

HER STORY

Linda Yang was trained at Otis College Parsons School of Design in fashion design, and received her graduate degree from Ecole Superieure de la Couture Parisenne. It was an internship at Chanel while under the direction Karl Lagerfeld, that shaped her passion for creating timeless designs with easy to mix accessories.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, her family moved to Los Angeles when Linda was 12 years old. During extended Summer visits at her grandparents' house in Taipei, she discovered the world of Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, and poetry. Her designs evoke the duality of a cross-cultural identity infused with adaptability -- where fashionable western chic sensibility meets Eastern simplicity and elegance.

In the past twenty years, Linda has been designing bespoke High Jewelry for her friends and clients around the world. Many of her works entailed redesigning family heirlooms passed down from previous generations, thus giving each piece renewed energy, meaning, and a new life.

While experimenting with a series of chain-linked monogram necklaces featuring spiritual motifs in geometric shapes in 2013, they became instant product hits for their versatility and wearability. With much encouragement from friends and clients alike, she launched her brand GLY.

The power behind GLY rests on the principles of wisdom, compassion, love, and resilience. GLY's acronym,"Glow in Love for Yourself", conveys a mindset and attitude Linda brings carries forward throughout her work. 

Having walked through the valleys of life through her personal journey as a designer and modern mother of three, Linda infuses an adventurous spirit that she hopes others can inhabit and enjoy.
